Backup: Maxtor OneTouch III 1Terrabyte

Due to the amount of video editing i am doing these days, i needed a bigger external drive solution. The 300GB Seagate i was using just got to small for my needs.

So i got the Maxtor 1Terrabyte drive, and connected it via Firewire 800 to my Mac. The drive can be configured as a RAID-1 solution, yielding 500GB, but i need the space, and to backup that drive, i rather buy a second one.

The speed of the drive is amazing. It’s actually 2x as fast as my internal IDE drives (at least per XBench 1.2), makes no noise that i could notice so far, and looks very very cool on your desk 🙂

So far, recommended.
