One of the things that are hard to come by in my particular area in Germany, are Bagels. Delicious fresh Bagels. Heck, i would settle for ok, not super fresh ones if I could get them.

The closest place to sell Bagels is in Cologne, that is like 30 miles or 45min by car away.

So I finally decide to bite the bullet and bake them myself. The whole 9 yards, starting with yeast and flour, over cooking them in simmering water etc.

It was not as hard as I thought. And the result was worth it, my family loved it, and yesterdays batch is already gone. So guess what i am doing right now…
